Temperature sensors are small, self-contained devices with a built-in battery. They do not require any connection and automatically connect to the hub, which sends the information to Octopus HACCP.
Simply place them in each of your cold rooms and freezers, and they will take temperature readings for you 24 hours a day.
The hub receives the information from the sensors and sends the data via 4G satellite to Octopus HACCP. Our HACCP software displays the temperatures received on your dashboard and alerts you if there is a problem.
How do alerts work ? 🔔
In case of a problem: general power failure, refrigerator failure with temperature exceeding the set limit, door not closed properly causing a rise in temperature in the cold chamber, connection problem, etc., you will receive alerts by text message and/or email.
The alerts can be customized so that you only receive those that are really important.

For example, we can disable alerts during service hours when the refrigerators are subject to frequent door openings. You choose the alert threshold for each cold room or freezer.
Is this system compliant with HACCP regulations ? ✅
Yes, Octopus HACCP temperature sensors are HACCP compliant. They are factory calibrated, and the temperature control system complies with regulations.
In the event of a health inspection, you can present the readings taken by your temperature sensors to the inspector along with your other HACCP readings.
You have access to temperature curves and all the readings taken in your dashboard.

Excellent application! Very practical for monitoring food traceability in daycares. The interface is clear, intuitive, and saves valuable time on a daily basis. The cleaning plan management module is also a real plus: simple to use and reassuring to ensure hygiene. The support team is responsive and attentive. I highly recommend this solution to all organizations that want to improve their organization and easily comply.
Sadly we needed to close our account, but Jérémie Lockel in Costumer support is a star within client service... In spite me wanting to close my account, he listened to our needs for now, didn't try to convince me otherwise and spent a lot of time to talk and send me an email with guidance to how to cancel the subscription... We will return to open an account if we need the service again.

Do I need Wi-Fi?
No, you don’t need Wi-Fi coverage in your kitchen or cold storage.
The sensors transfer information to the hub via radio waves. The hub is equipped with a 4G SIM card. For the system to work, you just need a 4G connection where you install the hub. You can check the status of your connection with your phone.

Can we enter multiple phone numbers for alerts?
Yes, you can add multiple recipients to receive SMS alerts. Each phone number you enter will receive an alert SMS, ensuring you are always informed in case of a problem.
How often are temperature readings taken?
Our temperature sensors take a temperature reading every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day. You can adjust the alerts you receive, for example: an alert after 40 minutes of abnormal temperatures, equivalent to 4 consecutive non-compliant readings. You choose how often you want to be alerted for each cold room!
What is the warranty in case of a breakdown?
In the event of a malfunction (connectivity or battery), we will replace your temperature sensors free of charge.
What type of cold cabinets can I equip with Octopus HACCP temperature sensors?
You can equip the positive or negative cold chambers of your choice. You can decide to equip only the cold rooms and freezers that require enhanced monitoring and control the temperature of the other cold chambers manually. You choose where you want to equip your entire fleet. Our temperature sensors can be placed in cold rooms, timers, towers, freezers, etc. However, we do not recommend installation in open display cases as temperature variations are significant in these areas.
Can I equip my freezers with temperature sensors?
Yes, you can equip your freezers with temperature sensors. Octopus HACCP temperature sensors operate at temperatures as low as -30°C.
